Cervus Blade is a 3rd-person action adventure game set in a deer-worshiping desert world with challenging hard-core combat. The player character is Zara, who uses a blade.This project explores the use of the village level. The goal is to reveal the subtle influence of spatial composition on level pacing & player psychology.


Contributions
Designed an interconnected village level that shaped traversal, encounter buildup, and terrain-based counterplay around a melee combat kit.
Implemented whitebox layouts, gameplay scripting, and level features including enemy spawners, one-way gates, save/load, ladders, and interactable objects to support pacing and route planning.
Collaborated with the combat designer to document level goals and player learning beats, iterating on exploration-to-combat pacing.
